Thursday 10 october 2013
3 MASSIVE UK DUBSTEP INTERNATIONALS
STILL AED 100 ENTRANCE
THE SOMETHING BIG BIRTHDAY BASH :D
It’s finally here; the one we know you have all been waiting for, the SOMETHING BIG BIRTHDAY BASH on THURSDAY 10 OCTOBER and my god what a line-up!!
We are extremely proud to have WHEEL & DEAL representing the event featuring special guest HATCHA, label boss N-TYPE and LX-ONE all in the same night and still at AED 100!! If you like DUBSTEP then it simply doesn’t get bigger than this.
The names on the line-up are so huge that it’s quite frankly a joke to provide bios but we have done so below as is customary with events – just don’t tell anyone that you had to read them for fear of ridicule ;)
And finally just to clarify that not only is it the events birthday but also Hatcha’s, N-Type’s and yours truly (Omar Shaker) so feel free to buy us drinks / bring presents.
See you all there!
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ *** HATCHA *** ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
HATCHA was famously nominated by ARTWORK (MAGNETIC MAN) as MIXMAG’s GREATEST DJ OF ALL TIME. Here is why:
Originally the buyer at the now defunct Big Apple record shop, Hatcha was one of the very first DJs to pick up on the new dark strains of 2step that were being made by local producers like El-B, Artwork and Horsepower at the turn of the millennium. As the producers came into the shop to sell white labels of these niche new sounds, a community arose. The shop began its own label, Big Apple Records and its first release was the dubstep classic “Red” by the shop’s resident producer Artwork. The next releases came from his two protégés, Benga and Skream.
Throughout the decade Hatcha’s sets, first on south London pirates then Rinse FM and now Kiss 100, went from strength to strength. His headline slots at Forward>> forged the genre into the form we now know it in. This was in no small part because he had exclusive access to Benga and Skream’s music, before adding three new producers: Mala Digital Mystikz, Coki and Loefah to his arsenal. The destiny of an entire scene lay in his hands, every time he played.
Since those times Hatcha has gone on to hold down his flagship Kiss 100 show alongside long time MC, Crazy D, DJ across the planet, co-produce with a variety of the scene’s heavyweights and mix compilations such as Ten Tons Heavy for Planet Mu.
“No one DJ or indeed producer can claim sole credit for dubstep . But when the history of the genre gets told, no DJ has ever had, or perhaps ever will again have so much influence over the course of the genre as Hatcha. It’s no overstatement to say the entire genre bares his stamp. ”Martin Clark”
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ *** N-TYPE *** ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
To say that N-TYPE is massive / huge in the worldwide dubstep scene is an understatement to say the least. He is a founding member of the Dubstep scene, there from the beginning with the likes of Skream, Benga and Hatcha and a main stay at the biggest clubs and festivals on the planet including Fabric, Tomorrowland and Outlook.
This multi award-winning Dubstep & UK Bass DJ / Producer / Radio Presenter and label owner has built up a consistent catalogue of releases on some of the biggest Dubstep Labels such as Tempa, Dub Police, Black Acre, Black Box and his own imprints Wheel & Deal Records, Terrain and Sin City Recordings. He has also remixed artists such as Wiley feat. Emeli Sande, Utah Jazz, Cinnamon Chasers, Lemon D (Valve), Big Black Delta, J Sweet & Megalodon.
N-Type is renowned for his upfront and eclectic selection, technical mixing and crowd-pleasing shows. He performs on 3 – 4 decks and recently launched his latest 6 deck-2 mixer back-to-back live show with DJ Hatcha.
N-Type has a regular show on the massively influential Rinse Fm every Tuesday 9-11pm GMT, showcasing the freshest beats and guest mixes from artist’s at the for-front of bass driven music.
▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ *** LX-ONE *** ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
LX ONE is sitting at the forefront of the deep, dark & moody sound coming out of bass music. Working on chart topping solo productions and very big collaborations alongside SP:MC, Icicle & Youngsta which has seen their music voted as one of the top three tracks in the 2012 Dubstepforum Awards.
A talented and experienced MC, having toured countless times around the UK & Europe and to the far away reaches of the South Pacific, LX One has been making waves and has been the MC of choice for many promoters since the early noughties.

Whether he’s holding down the mic, or controlling the decks, LX One is here to stay and a big crowd puller.
