Sound Collective Return To Barasti with Benny Benassi

Sound Collective Return To Barasti with Benny Benassi

One thing that Barasti does better than most (amongst others) is large scale electronic music events. Think 10 thousand people dancing the night away in the sand and you will have an idea of just how good their parties really are. The Dubai institution Barasti Beach Club has recently revealed the line-up for the next instalment of their collaborative 3-day festival with Smirnoff – The Sound Collective, but they have been working hard behind the scenes to bolster the already impressive line-up for the upcoming EDM fest. Last year’s event was of suitably epic proportions with Dutch duo Bassjackers and fellow Dutch artist R3hab and the results were nothing short of staggering. This year the party begins Thursday, April 5th at 8pm and runs until Saturday, April 7th at midnight. Obviously, there will be breaks in between as each session will rage on until 3am, but The Sound Collective have ensured that their guests this year will have you pumped enough to go the distance. And all free of charge.

Dubainight.com can exclusively reveal that the final guest is none other than Benny Benassi. No festival line-up would be complete without including a legend of the scene to add that bit of sparkle and they don’t come more legendary than Benassi. The Italian producer has a long lineage of electronic music dating back to 2002 when he burst on to the scene with his track “Satisfaction”. This resulted in him hitting number 2 in the UK Singles Chart and set the tone for the rest of his illustrious career which has seen Benassi work with a diverse group of musicians including OutKast, Chris Brown, Goldfrapp, Felix da Housecat and Iggy Pop. The crowning moment of this collaboration work came in 2008 when his remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring the Noise” won the Grammy for best dance remix. Few artists that were as big as Benny was in the 00’s is still as popular as he is today over 15 years later. That is the true testament to his star quality.

Headlining this year’s festival of EDM is another Dutch wonder kid – Quintino. Having slayed the Dutch club scene from an early age this EDM star has graduated to sharing the limelight with the big guns such as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Steve Aoki at the likes of Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland.

Joining Quintino on the massive beach stage will be fellow EDM and progressive artist Yves V. Hailing from Antwerp, Yves V is another name on the global EDM scene to watch out for, currently out on the road taking in stadiums and festivals alongside the likes of Nicky Romero and the complete cast of Tomorrowland Yves has his sights set firmly on the top of the industry.

With the EDM scene being dominated by the Dutch, it may seem impossible for a young gun to break in to the light. That is exactly what Dante Klein has been doing for the past few years. At the tender age of just 22, Dante has the word at his feet having already been featured by Pete Tong on his BBC Radio One show and having already starred at last year’s ADE, Mysteryland and Tomorrowland festivals it is clear that you will be hearing a lot more from Dante in the coming months and years.
