It’s a well-worn phrase in Dubai but it looks like Zero Gravity has managed to “Beat the Heat” this summer with its new ‘Surf Shack’ pop-up venue inside. Adding a fresh look and feel to the beach club’s two-storey bar and restaurant, the cool new Surf Shack inside gives you Bali beach vibes and air-conditioned comfort for the summer months. The central bamboo bar now contains a circular stage for live performers with an impressive DJ booth behind it serving a summer soundtrack from day to night, courtesy of Zero Gravity’s resident house DJs and musicians.
With surf boards hanging on the walls, fishing nets and lush greenery growing over the bar, the Surf Shack is a cool and casual place to chill, whether you want to pop inside to cool off during Zero Gravity’s weekend pool and beach brunches, or party with friends at one of Zero Gravity’s new ladies’ nights on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. While you’re inside, make sure you check out the Games Room upstairs, with giant Connect 4, snakes and ladders, ping pong, hula hoops and a limbo pole to keep you entertained. The fresh new look and feel definitely adds a cool new dimension for the next few weeks.

Combining pool and beach as well as the cool new pop-up Surf Shack inside, Zero Gravity is serving you street eats, treats, beats and an extra helping of enjoyment every Saturday. Asobi means fun in Japanese, and there’ll be plenty of that with five hours of unlimited food and beverages from 12-5pm to fuel your day. Take a dip in the pool or a stroll along the sand, then dive inside to cool off for a while in the Surf Shack, with house DJs and a sax player on stage downstairs and the Games Room upstairs to keep you entertained and test out your ninja skills.
The brunch menu is inspired by Asian street food, with everything from Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls to Chicken Satay skewers, Singapore Noodles and of course Japanese Sushi Rolls. Take as many trips as you want to the Far Eastern food stations between dips in the glass fronted pool, but make sure save some space for the Banana Fritters for dessert. Vegetarians haven’t been forgotten either, with Papaya Salad, Vegetable Noodles, Spring Rolls and Dim Sum among the options on offer. Liquid refreshment will include house pours plus some specially blended beverages with Asian flavours.
Open from 10am, the entire day out (and in) including pool and beach access costs only AED 249 ladies and AED 299 guys, with a special price of AED 199 for teachers, cabin crew (any airline) and healthcare workers. Simply show valid ID at the door and the discount will be applied. Sun loungers are first come first served, with tables, sofas and VIP day beds available for reservations.
