May 17 is DXB Cucumber Day! Around 35 bars and restaurants in Dubai will accept cucumber as payment for a drink., just hand over a cucumber to staff members and you will get your drink.
Seriously?! Yes it’s true. “In a move that will cause consternation in financial markets worldwide, this 17th May Hendrick’s Gin will recognise the true value of the cucumber by transforming the humble green fruit into exchangeable monetary units in celebration of DXB Cucumber Day” as per their official Facebook page.
One cucumber per person so no hoarding of cucumber in the grocery okay unless you will go bar hopping all day.
