La Mer was announced last year at Cityscape, the new coastal hub coming to Jumeirah 1 between Jumeirah Mosque and Dubai Zoo. The huge beachfront development will open its first phase to the public from Sunday October 15.
A 13.4 million sq ft of existing land and land reclaimed from the sea, La Mer will span across three different districts – La Mer South, La Mer North and The Wharf. La Mer South and North is going to be featuring a lot, a lot, of shops, restaurants, cafés and beach activities – 130 no less. La Mer North and South areas are opening now, with the second phase of the project, The Wharf, due to open at the start of 2018. That will feature cinemas, a waterpark including a dedicated, first-of-its-kind in the region surf park, plus more shops cafés and restaurants. There will also be a hotel and residential community located on two man-made peninsulas not yet to be confirmed.
