A DRY NIGHT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED ACROSS DUBAI ON SATURDAY!

A DRY NIGHT HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED ACROSS DUBAI ON SATURDAY!
If you’re planning a night out with the mates over the upcoming long weekend, here’s something you need to know.

There’s a dry night coming up on Saturday, August 31 from 6:30pm onwards, right ahead of the Islamic New Year, and it will be ending at 7:30pm on Sunday, September 1.

So, expect only soft drinks to be served across bars and restaurants in the city during the dry period.

While holiday for the Islamic New Year has still not been officially announced, it is likely to fall on Sunday, September 1 – which means, there's another long weekend to look forward to pretty soon!

Now that the UAE government will be granting private sector employees the same number of days off as the public sector, here are some of the other holidays to look out for:

November 9 – Milad Al Nabi
A long weekend is expected to mark Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday on the 9th of November, which falls on a Saturday. However, this is subject to moon-sighting. So, let’s wait and watch.

November 30 – Martyr’s Day
Also known as Commemoration Day, a public holiday has been declared on the 30th of November (Saturday), making it a long weekend for the UAE.

December 2 – UAE National Day
Falling on the 2nd of December, there is a possibility that the two-day holiday for UAE National Day might get clubbed together with the holiday for Martyr’s Day – that’s another long weekend to look forward to this year!
