BIG NEWS IN: THE LIST OF UAE PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR 2019 HAS BEEN UPDATED!
If you were looking forward to a five-day weekend this year, you’re going to want to see this!

The Federal Authority For Government Human Resources (FAHR) has revised the list of public holidays for the rest of the year, with an important update announced right before the last long weekend of 2019.

Commemoration Day, which was originally on Sunday, December 1, has now been moved to Saturday, November 30–this was confirmed in a tweet sent out by FAHR yesterday.

So, for those who are usually off on Fridays and Saturdays, this means having to return to work on Sunday, December 1–only to be off for the following two days on Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3.

The National Day holiday will be the last one this year, and will mark 48 years since all seven emirates were unified back in 1971.

This is an important update especially for those who may have already started planning for the long weekend ahead.

The UAE Cabinet had earlier this year announced that both private and public sectors would be getting the same number of holidays starting this year.
