BREAKING: Another long weekend announced this end of August.

Hijri New Year holiday announced in UAE! 

The UAE announced a holiday on Sunday, August 23, to mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year. 

Muharram 1, which will mark the beginning of the Hijri New Year, is expected to begin on August 23, subject to moon sighting. 
According to a statement issued by the Federal Authority For Government Human Resources on social media today, Sunday, August 23 will be a holiday for the public sector/federal government workers, hereby giving the employees a three-day weekend. It stated that regular working hours will resume on Monday, August 24.



 
The holiday declaration currently applies to the public sector and we waiting for confirmation for the private sector.

The occasion of Islamic New Year is usually a dry night, but we are still awaiting for confirmation – we will let you know as soon as we know.
