Heading towards the holiday season, the news could not have come at a better time. Social gatherings during the holidays are long awaited and now, at last, we can cozy up with our loved ones and welcome the end of year celebrations filled with joy! There is catch though… you have to follow certain guidelines for hosting these events.

 - Social gatherings should not exceed 30 people at home or in tents
- Social gatherings in hotel ballrooms should not exceed 200 people
- The gathering spaces should allow space for social distancing
- Tables should be placed with ample distance and not more than 5 people can sit in one table
- The timings for events should not exceed four hours
- Proper ventilation is key at events
- Serving buffets are highly discouraged
- Sanitization and disinfection as much as possible on all surfaces
- Handing out party gifts are not encouraged
- Physical affection is not allowed.
- Masks can only be taken off while seated.
- Guests should be seated two meters away from one another and not be seated face to face
- Guests should ensure that they have no symptoms such as cough, runny nose, etc. or they should not attend these events.
- Elderly people with chronic health conditions are discouraged from attending

Weddings are also permitted as long it is up to 200 people at halls and ballrooms. There we have it, folks. Entertain your guests, enjoy the holidays and stay safe while following these guidelines as per the DHA (Dubai Health Authority). Do not forget to wear your masks, maintain distance and ensure you sanitize your hands and surfaces at all times.
