NATIONAL DAY, CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR GATHERINGS NOT ALLOWED SAYS GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES!
Strict guidelines will have to be followed this holiday season.

With the long National Day weekend coming up and Christmas and with New Years around the corner, this year’s festive season is going to look a little different. UAE residents are strongly recommended to follow the COVID-19 safety protocols and are advised for celebrations to remain virtual this year!

Furthermore, private gatherings and workplace parties are prohibited on the holidays due to the precautionary measures that have to take place to stop the spreading of the virus. Limited numbers will be allowed to watch the fireworks and the National Day’s main event ‘Seed of the Union’ show will be held virtually.

"No gatherings are allowed for celebrations. No food or gifts can be exchanged. People can take part in the celebrations virtually," says a government official. They go on to say, "Concerts that last for more than three to four hours cannot be held without prior approval."

Safety guidelines will be strongly followed at all authorized facilities of entertainment, with facemasks being mandatory and thermal cameras installed at venues. Everyone attending is advised to follow the 2-meter social distancing measure and training personnel will be present on site.

Cleaning and sterilization should be done round the clock at all facilities, public and private.
