Say Goodbye To Your Weekend Hangover With These Quick Fixes

Say Goodbye To Your Weekend Hangover With These Quick Fixes
So, the long weekend is still on – what should have felt like a carpe diem moment only feels more and more like a bad hangover. With plans happening by the hour, you might be looking for a quick fix or some sort of a miracle to snap you out of this daze. Fear not – these nifty tips should take you from drab to fab in no time!

Fluids are your friend

While drinking might be the last thing you want to do at the moment, fluids such as water or coconut water can help in flushing out any impurities in your system after a night out. It helps to combine water with other fluids so as to replenish salt or potassium levels in the body. Some people also swear by a big cold bottle of Coke which can be useful in reducing the pounding in your head.

Work it out!

Working out is known to release endorphins or ‘happy hormones’ in the body that help you feel better. But make sure you keep yourself hydrated while exercising, or you’ll only end up feeling worse than before. Besides, hitting the gym will also make you feel less guilty about all the damage you did to your body the night before.

Cheery as a banana

A great source of potassium, bananas are helpful in providing electrolytes needed by your body to make up for the night before. With vitamins C and B6, bananas are also an awesome way to bring down all your hangover symptoms especially headaches. Add a bit of honey and you’ll feel the glucose rush to your blood stream, helping you become less irritable and more cheerful.

Gingers have more fun

A sip of ginger tea with honey can help your body burn off any residual alcohol in your system. Ginger is a popular remedy for reducing nausea and vomiting, or for easing an upset stomach. By mixing honey in your tea, you’re also able to get the added benefits of honey. You can even try drinking ginger ale or munch on a few slices of fresh ginger to help with your hangover symptoms.

Snooze on

Sometimes the best way to combat a hangover is to go right back to bed! Depending on how bad your hangover is, sleeping it off will give your body a chance to heal itself. Besides, now that the long weekend is on, take the day off and let your body recover from all the shenanigans of the night before.
