Yaaaas, it’s the summer of viral challenges – and this one in particular has got everybody hooked!
From Mariah Carey to Ryan Reynolds, seems like celebrities are all in on the latest craze to take over social media – the bottle cap challenge.
What is the bottle cap challenge?
What started off as an impressive display of a roundhouse kick by Taekwondo fighter and instructor Farabi Davletchin last month has now turned into a viral trend that’s got celebrities challenging each other on IG.
The idea is to unscrew a bottle cap clear off the top of the bottle with a spinning kick while somebody records the whole thing in slow mo – and celebrities have not disappointed with both their agility and creativity.
Here’s a look at all our favorite ones so far:
John Mayer
Singer and lyricist John Mayer was one of the first few to rock the bottle cap challenge – and boy, was he gooooood!
Jason Statham
Challenged by singer John Mayer, British actor Jason Statham clearly didn’t hold back in this video that’s been flooding our social media feeds all week.
Mariah Carey
Not only did Mariah Carey take on the bottle cap challenge – but she nailed it in an entirely unique way! Hint: don’t be fooled by the warm up!
Justin Bieber
While putting his own ‘spin’ on the bottle cap challenge, Justin went on to challenge actor Tom Cruise whom he had famously challenged to a fight in the octagon. Hmmm, how very interesting.
Ryan Reynolds
Trust Ryan to come up with a hilarious way to ‘smash’ the bottle cap challenge…err, maybe a little too literally!
Diplo
Demonstrating his ability to do more than just “pushing button on stage”, American DJ Diplo took on the challenge while in Ibiza – he went on to challenge Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Kevin Durant and Obama.
McLaren
Okay, so not a celebrity, but this one was so good that we just had to include this here! Doesn’t get cooler than this!
