Where To Celebrate Saint Patricks Day

Where To Celebrate Saint Patricks Day

With St. Patrick’s Day being this Saturday on March 17th there is a whole weekend worth of celebrations going on in Dubai. We have very kindly done all the hard work for you, so you just need to decide who has the best craic. Sláinte!

ST PATRICK’S GARDEN PARTY / GARDEN ON 8, MEDIA ONE HOTEL
Starting the celebrations early will be Jameson’s annual Paddy’s Day shindig and this year they have a great line-up primed and ready. The Irish tipple will be the fuel for the party and the sound track will be delivered by Frezidante, Nasrawi, Alaa Faqir Trio, Vandalye live and Kev Fresh will be closing out the night. Entry to the Garden on 8 is free all night.

BARASTI BEACH CLUB / LE MERIDIEN HOTEL, MINA SEYAHI
Dubai beach club institution Barasti is one of the best places to be when celebrations like Paddy’s Day comes around, with live entertainment and DJ’s all day long there are few places that offer the same buzzing atmosphere as Barasti. You can also get in on the fun too, if you rock up to Barasti sporting a #guinesstache between 7pm and 8pm from March 1st to March 16th you will receive a pint of the black stuff for free. Entry is free all day, every day.

THE ULTIMATE PADDY’S DAY PARTY / DUBAI MEDIA CITY AMPHITHEATRE
Aside from the usual Paddy’s Day shenanigans going on in their individual outlets, McGettigan’s will be returning for another one day festival celebrating the patron saint of Ireland. Performing at the one day bash is Kodaline, Little Hour, The Joshua Tree and The Corona’s. There will be the usual array of brunch offers as well as a fine selection of F&B out with the brunch. For more information on this huge event head over to their ticket outlet

IRISH VILLAGE / GARGOUD
Opening in 1996, The Irish Village is one of the oldest watering holes in Dubai and one of the best places to spend Paddy’s Day. So, when Paddy’s Day comes around, they don’t just celebrate for the day but the whole weekend. There will be live music from Sin A Der Si, Maplejacks and DJ Marky Mark, Irish dancers, as well as face painting, a petting zoo and bouncy castle for the kids. Entry is free for all for the whole weekend.

MCGETIGANS (VARIOUS)
Having slowly grown to cover most corners of Dubai, McGettigan’s offers a great atmosphere usually but on Paddy’s Day things get kicked up a notch. With Saturday, March 17th also being the last day of Rugby’s 6 Nations tournament, their JLT outlet at The Bonnigton Hotel is still one of the best locations to watch live sport as they have 2 giant screens as well as over 20 plasma screens dotted around the venue. As Ireland have already won the tournament with a game to go the final match against England will be a formality but will add to the buzz no end.

FIBBER MAGEE’S / SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD
Another long-time staple in Dubai is Fibber McGee’s, touted as “Dubai’s best kept secret” this bar has the perfect mix of atmosphere to craic ratio, and with them putting on live entertainment, sport and bevvies all weekend long Fibbers is a great choice this Paddy’s Day.

THE DUBLINER’S / LE MERIDIEN HOTEL, GARHOUD
Located at Le Meridien Hotel in Garhoud, The Dubliner’s is another gem of a bar that has been playing host to a legion of Irish ex-pats and tourists alike for years and over that time has built up a strong reputation as a nice, chilled and friendly bar in which to get involved in the craic. Like most venues, they will be celebrating over the course of the full weekend with various brunch offers, live entertainment and of course the final Ireland game of the 6 Nations.
