While there is no dearth of shisha lounges in Dubai, you’d be hard-pressed to find one that matches the pomp and exuberance of HuQQa, the upscale Turkish restaurant in Dubai Mall.
A simple visit to the bustling eatery on a weeknight turned into one of the most memorable nights we’ve had in a long time – and for plenty of reasons.
With an impressive view of the Dubai Fountain that had us immediately reaching for our phone cameras, we knew exactly what we wanted to start the night with– some good old-fashioned hubbly-bubbly, of course.
Except there’s absolutely nothing old-fashioned about the shisha served at HuQQa – we’d even go on to say that it was by far, the best we’ve had in the city.
After all, it’s not every day that you find a hookah bar where a shisha sommelier wheels in a special cart for you to witness your flavor being prepared right in front of your eyes – trust us, it is as exciting as it sounds!
It’s also not every day that the waitstaff break into a James Bond-esque routine before serving up a delicious fruit platter that’s aptly named “La Bomb” – order it, sit back and enjoy the whole show.
The food at HuQQa is an interesting mix of traditional Turkish delicacies prepared with a modern twist – the ‘Flying Barbecue’ and ‘Wagyu Adana Kebab’ were clear winners of the night.
As meat lovers, we couldn’t get over the endless varieties of kebabs and we’d definitely recommend a visit to Dubai Mall’s only indoor hookah bar especially during the cooler weather.
