1. Irie means "Feeling Good" to be at total peace with your current state of being. The way you feel when you have no worries. So next time someone ask you "How you feelin'?" just say "Irie!" 
 2. Jamaica was the first country in the Caribbean to get independence.
3. Jamaica was the second country in the world after the UK to have a national railway.
4. It was also the first Caribbean island to commercially produce rum.
5. It was the first English speaking Caribbean team to qualify for the World Cup.
6. One of Jamaica’s golf clubs, the Manchester golf club is the oldest in the Caribbean, and was founded in 1868.
7. Jamaica is famed for being the first and only tropical nation to enter a bobsleigh team in the IOC Winter Olympics. The heroic story was made into a hit film, “Cool Runnings”.
8. It had a history of pirates and wild behaviour, with Port Royal being dubbed “The Wickedest City on Earth”.
