The summer season is barely a month old and already we have our first casualty – Little Black Door at the Conrad Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road. The trendy speak easy has garnered a tidy collection of accolades since opening in February 2016 and has become a firm favourite among the more discerning nightlife crowd. Benefitting from ornate baroque-esque styling, a team of very knowledgeable mixologists capable of concocting some of the cities finest cocktails, a DJ booth and DJ programming that has been made the centre piece of the sprawling bar (my personal favourite) and a well-executed secret lounge concept, it is sad to see Little Black Door closing its little black doors for good.
There is little information regarding the closure of this outlet at this point and it is a shame that it didn’t get the send-off that it rightly deserved, let’s just hope the next incarnation of this venue will retain the charm and style of its predecessor. RIP Little Black Door.
