Hip-hop lovers in the city have a big night to look forward to–with an influential figure from Brooklyn’s underground music circuit headlining the season opening party of Barsha hotspot, Barbary this month.
DJ Spinna aka Vincent Williams has been ‘spinning’ tracks since the late ‘90s, having worked with A-listers such as Eminem, De La Soul and Pharoahe Monch–and now, he’s ready to drop his tunes for party-lovers on Thursday, October 17.
Known for brilliantly mixing dance music with a number of genres including funk, soul and hip-hop, Spinna first burst onto the scene with his remix of Michael Jackson’s chart-topper, “We’re Almost There”.
But the talented DJ did not stop there, having made his foray into soulful house music with a string of hit releases since then. 2002 saw Spinna launching “Soul Slam”–a series of hugely popular parties celebrating Michael Jackson’s life and music.
With his unique approach to creating a distinct sound that resonates with club-goers from all around the world, make sure you’ve got your dancing shoes on, as Spinna keeps you on your feet all night long.
