WORRY LESS, PARTY MORE WITH OUR TOP 5 TIPS FOR A STRESS-FREE NYE IN DUBAI!

WORRY LESS, PARTY MORE WITH OUR TOP 5 TIPS FOR A STRESS-FREE NYE IN DUBAI!
It’s easy to get caught up in the NYE frenzy while forgetting about the nitty-gritties of planning for the big event. But that’s why we’re here, to help you with the smaller details, so you can have the bestest time this NYE!

1) Metro it, Tram it, Bus it!
You might be familiar with all the routes but if history has taught us anything, it is that there is a high possibility of certain roads being restricted especially around the Downtown area on New Year’s Eve. So, it’s highly advisable to stay up-to-date with any RTA announcements as you’re getting ready to head out. For now, the following road closures on December 31st have been confirmed by RTA:

- From 4pm, Al Asayel Street will be closed.
- From 5pm, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard will be closed.
- From 6pm, Happiness Street will be closed at the Roda Al Murooj
- From 8pm, the Zabeel intersection of Happiness Street will be closed.
- From 8pm, Financial Center Road (both upper and lower levels) will be closed.
- From 10pm, the Emirates Towers roundabout will be closed.

A collective sigh of relief was heard all over Dubai since it was announced that the metro and tram will be running all night on NYE.

2) The earlier, the better!
With massive traffic quickly building up in some of the popular areas of the city on New Year’s Eve, it is always best to get to the party early – not only will you avoid the traffic, but it’ll also give you a chance to mingle with the crowd before the festivities begin. Besides, isn’t that a better alternative to losing your mind in the endless traffic?! It’ll also be a great idea to hire an Uber or Careem, so you don’t have to worry about the traffic while coming back home either.

3) Double-check everything!
While rushing out of the house, make sure you don’t forget to carry a few essential things with you – like your Emirates ID, tickets/invites, house key, phone and phone charger. Try carrying a warm jacket or shawl too since it’s bound to get a lot cooler later on in the night. Ladies, don't forget to carry an extra pair of comfortable shoes! You know you’ll be needing it at the end of the night.

4) Reconfirm reservations
While it’s always a good idea to book your NYE spots way in advance, it’s also an even better idea to call up the venue and reconfirm reservations ahead of your visit. Nothing, and we mean, NOTHING will spoil your mood faster than your table being wrongly reserved for somebody else on one of the most important nights of the year. With everything set, you can arrive at the party without having to worry about being stopped at the door.

5) Don’t carry all your cash!
Or all your credit cards too. With all that partying and drinking, it’ll be safer to carry only a few notes and the cards that you think will be absolutely necessary for the night. This will also save you the horror of waking up the next morning, not knowing where you spent all your money!
