Touted as one of the most romantic Thai restaurants in Dubai, Thiptara literally means ‘magic at the water’; a fitting nod to its spectacular location on the Burj Lake.
Having heard so much about this award-winning restaurant, we thought it was about time we paid a visit too–and so we arrived on a beautiful summer night, dressed to the tee, ready for our night out at Thiptara.
If making a great first impression is an art, the venue surely paints an oriental masterpiece with a red-lime green palette that’s accentuated by soft lighting and hints of gold.
With a front-row view to the Dubai Fountain and an almost magical ambiance, it’s not hard to imagine why most young couples continue to choose this spot for date night.
But even with all the frills, perhaps what’s most impressive is that Thiptara manages to keep its focus firmly on the food. The menu features an interesting mix of authentic Royal Thai cuisine and Bangkok street food.
While we simply couldn’t get enough of the goong satay, grilled prawn skewers served generously with peanut sauce, the gaeng kiew wan gai chicken curry made for a show-stopping meal.
As we ended the evening on a sweet note, courtesy of the mouthwatering tempura fried banana and sorbet, and prepared to head out, the Dubai Fountain burst into life, managing to stop us right in our tracks yet again.
So, is the magic real? Must be...why else would we be looking forward to our next visit already?!
