Tell us more about your background?
We could go on forever about my history outside of Dubai but lets keep it simple and local! I won the “Denon DJ of the Year” competition in Chi the lodge (back when it was good) in 2011 and since then the sky’s been the limit.
When did you start DJing ?
I started DJing back in 1997 in a beach club called Centre Point in Sri Lanka.
What/who were your early influences?
Jazzy Jeff, do I need to say more?
What's you favorite tune of all time?
Kenny Thomas - Thinking About Your Love
What was your first record you bought?
Same as above, pressed on vinyl.
What are the challenges of being a successful DJ Today?
Becoming a successful DJ requires a huge amount of determination and knock backs. I try my best to listen and learn from some of the best DJs in the world and to put my own spin on things.
What do you usually start with when preparing for a set?
You need to start with some real classics, nothing loosens up a crowd up better than throw backs.
What defines a good crowd for you?
A good crowd for me is the one that understands and appreciates real Hip Hop and RNB.
What is one mistake you see a lot of up and coming DJs making?
DJ’s now rely on technology too much, it takes them out of their comfort zones and we shall see who can cut it.
What advice would you give to aspiring DJs?
Knowledge is power, learn everything you can about music!
Where do you think the scene is headed? One year from now? Five years from now?
Dubai’s music and clubbing scene is constantly changing, I wouldn't even know where to start, thats why I love this place! The music scene as a whole right now is empty it lost it’s soul!
Tell us more about your upcoming projects and gigs?
Right now I'm working on some exciting new projects closely with the boys at LUV Events, I can not disclose details but some real game changing things will happen after Ramadan! As for internationally I have a few exiting gigs lined up this summer!

Lets just say rockstar lifestyle!
