COACHELLAS DESERT X WILL BE TAKING PLACE IN SAUDI ARABIA NEXT YEAR!
One of the most ‘grammable art exhibitions around, Desert X will be heading straight from California’s Coachella Valley to the sands of Saudi Arabia in 2020.

The contemporary art exhibition is all set to take place at the AlUla desert in the northwestern part of the country from Friday, January 31 to Saturday, March 7.

Called “Desert X Al Ula’, the project will be funded by The Saudi Royal Commission of Al Ula as part of Vision 2030 that aims to make Saudi Arabia a tourist hotspot–it was announced earlier that tourists from 49 different countries can apply for a 90-day visa to Saudi.

Art-lovers can look forward to installations from renowned artists all over the world. Curated by Desert X’s artistic director Neville Wakefield, the exhibition will also be curated by Saudi’s Raneem Farsi and Aya Alireza.

Desert X released the following statement on Instagram to announce the upcoming partnership: “Desert X is expanding beyond the borders of the California desert and going international. Furthering our mission to connect desert communities and cultures around the world through contemporary art, Desert X is collaborating with the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) to present Desert X AlUla, which will take place in northwest Saudi Arabia, a historically significant place of outstanding beauty and cultural heritage, and home to the country’s first UNESCO world heritage site, Hegra.

Watch out for this one!
