REWIND with DJ Tim Cheddar

If you see a flashing dancefloor in Dubai, you can be sure that DJ Tim Cheddar will be close by. And the Cheese champion's latest residency has arguably the flashiest dancefloor in the city. Rewind at Embassy enjoyed a full house for its opening night last month, and Tim Cheddar returns this Friday for another night of 70s, 80s, 90s and Noughties classics
(Noughties: Music from 2000 to 2009).
On Embassy's other nights, deep house dictates a slightly dimmer dancefloor for the cool clientele, but not at Rewind, where the coloured squares are turned up to the max and
bright enough to bring out the John Travolta dance moves in everybody and anybody.
As for the music, Cheddar's been spinning his retro classics for nearly a decade now, and his
fantastic formula of musical memories shows no signs of stopping now that he's found a new home in Dubai Marina.
"Rewind works really well at Embassy," explains Cheddar with a cheesy grin. "The dancefloor draws people like musical moths to a retro flame, and even in the cosy corners of the club, the sound of pop and disco drags party people off their sofas for a dance and singalong."
Embassy is arguably the most exclusive venue that Tim Cheddar has DJed at. Is that something that intimidates him? "We changed the name from 'Cheese' to 'Rewind' because some people might not understand the term 'cheesy music', but apart from that crowd is the same, only better dressed. The mix of nationalities also allows me to play a few more American tunes, Like Hanson "MMMBop" and Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's "Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. I amazes me how many people know every word to that song!�
In an appetising tribute to the music downstairs, Tim Cheddar has inspired the chefs of restaurant Kitchen 45 on the 45th floor of this 3 storey venue. For Friday they've put together a special cheese based three course set menu for AED 245, including:
