Sandance festival... A NYE in Dubai

On December 29, Santa Claus was a little late, but a sumptuous gift's waiting on my email box : a Flight ticket to Dubai on December 31. What Wonderful attention! December 31 at dawn, I set sail to terminal 2C Charles de Gaulle aiport. More than 6 hours on the best airline in the world, Emirates.

Upon my arrival at the airport, I was pampered like a princess, a 4x4 white waiting for me. Do not waste time because I am in Dubai for one thing the Sandance Festival, one of the biggest festivals in Dubai, organized by a British team.

Arrival at the Movenpick Hotel, I've just deposited my luggages and let's go to explore this city! The time is short before Sandance. The driver shows me the 'essential' in Dubai with its futuristic buildings sprung from the desert, its artificial islands ...

It is time to go back to the hotel so I have to dress up, and thus celebrate the end of the year in 'beauty' :) This is the first time I participated in a festival on a beach. In the lobby of the hotel, I met Rita Ora. We discussed 5 minutes, she explains the program in Dubai: swimming, skydiving ... She's crazy! We know for a few months. Our common? the Kardashians! But the one I looked forward to, this is Ellie Goulding. Musically so complete this British artist gives a lot to the audience ...





Arrival on site in front of the Atlantis, the crowds arrive gradually. Here, chill out and non-violence are the key words. The organization takes care with the artists and their teams. Everyone has his personal space. A few minutes later, Rita Ora onstage. She electrifies the audience in few wordss. The It Girl was dressed in gold and studded throughout! She transcended the crowd with her extraordinary voice and energy. She knows how to engage the public and musicians! Follows, Ellie Goulding.




Ellie is eagerly awaited by the public as the Anglophone community is very present in Dubai. Multi-instrumentalist, it affects both percussion, synth than guitar. Her voice is captivating and everyone is agreed! These classics are reviewing: Starry Eyed, Lights, Anything Could Happen ... What a wonderful end of the year with her, that a person so endearing.




The countdown has begun! The House Master Roger Sanchez took control. Its appreciable the mix of genres from Hip / Hop, English pop and DJs. The last minute of the year goes, Roger Sanchez prepares his playlist. The task is not easy because after passing a pop singer can be destabilizing but not for Roger. It captivates the audience with his House from New York. Last year, he had the same task because it was already present for the Sandance NYE.





Happy New Year 2013, fireworks are launched for nearly 10 minutes. The ballet is amazing and very bright graph. To start the year Roger played Classics coated with signatures of his label Stealth. The eclectic crowd is conquered.




During 1:30, Roger Sanchez took us to his beloved city NYC with a techy House ternary. Lying in the sand, my ears were charmed by his introduction: Say My Name from Florence & the Machine. What could be better. But the pro bootlegs was technically fit and gave us mixes which he alones knows the secret.

But what artist will close this edition? The 16th Dj of the planet, Paul van Dyk. He let us enjoy her beads of sixth album Evolution. His set highlighted artists such as Austin Leeds, Arty, Giuseppe Ottaviani ... The 15,000 attendees were amazed by the beauty and quality of the show ...
