Single people in Dubai will agree with us when we say there’s nothing worse than watching all your couple friends make plans for Valentine’s Day in Dubai. Sure, you want to be happy for them. Sure, you wish nothing but the best for them.
But there’s always that tiny voice in your head going, “What about ME?!”
Fret not, we’ve all been there, done that. As the dreaded day approaches closer, you might find yourself going through the following familiar stages of V-day despair:
QUESTIONING??
Is this really happening? Am I single AGAIN on Valentine’s Day? The questioning stage involves analyzing every dating choice you’ve ever made in life, and wondering how the universe conspired to lead you back to being single right in time for V-Day. Oh, where did it all go wrong?!
AVOIDANCE!!
This is quickly followed by an active effort to avoid any mention of the day itself. Going to the mall involves shielding your eyes from the cute V-Day displays – teddy bears, hearts, baby cupids – you’re having none of that. You might even decide to suspiciously disappear from your couple friends’ lives altogether.
ANGER?!
What follows next is a full-blown rant about how the concept of Valentine’s Day is ridiculous. After all, isn’t it ALL just a money-making scheme?! It simply doesn’t make sense that there should be only one day in the entire year to make somebody feel special. Nope, doesn’t make sense at all!
DEPRESSION...
Ohhhhh, I’m soooo alone. This is the part where you feel like you’re being sucked into a deep well of singledom. Life seems dark and gloomy. The sky seems gray. The birds are no longer chirping. You wonder if you’ll ever find somebody in this big, big city. Is there somebody out there at all?!
ACCEPTANCE.
This is the final stage where you pick yourself back up and fully embrace your singlehood. Being single isn’t so bad, it only gives you an opportunity to completely focus on the one person who matters most – YOU! Besides, with so many events happening for singles in Dubai on V-day, you might end up bumping into the love of your life sooner than you expected. Who knows?!
